El Recien Doula provides emotional, physical and educational support to mothers who are expecting a baby, experiencing labour or has recently given birth. My duty as a doula is to empower mothers and the rest of the family by supporting you during or after birth. Through my dedicated support, I can help you and your family through the journey of parenthood.

Birth Doula

Often described as ‘mothering the mother’, a doula is a Greek word which means ‘caregiver’. As a doula, I offer emotional and physical support before, during and after birth.

It is my mission to help you have the best birthing experience possible.

I will create a comforting space for parents, offering caring, loving encouragement to mothers and their partners. 

How I Help As A Birth Doula

As your birth doula, I will give you emotional and physical support to you and your partner during pregnancy, childbirth help you find your rhythm to give you a satisfying and memorable birth and the postpartum period.

As soon as you reach 38 weeks in your pregnancy, I will be on call 24/7. I can also provide support via phone call, text and email. I create a calm and positive environment for you and your partner during birth and will stay with you until your baby is born.

How Does My Birth Doula Service Work

Initial Meeting and Preparation

  • I will conduct a minimum or three visits before your due date to go through any questions you might have and build up relationship
  • Empower you to write your birth plan, discuss your preferences talk about your concerns, birth options
  • Discuss what you might like during each stage of labour

We will then practice several pain management techniques and pushing positions for birthing while learning some valuable coping skills. I will show you the specific signs that are associated with labour and its progression so that you know exactly when you are in labour.

24-Hour On Call

At 38 weeks, I will be on standby, ready to support you once you go into labour. I will stay with you until your baby is born, providing the much-needed emotional and physical support, along with being able to answer any queries via email, phone call or text. I will come to you as soon as you feel that you need my support.

The Birth

I will stay by your side during early indications of labour when you are being transported to the hospital or birth centre and during labour. I will stay for up to an hour after the birth to make sure that you are bonding with your newborn and start breastfeeding safely and accurately.

Postnatal Doula

I offer emotional and physical support during your transition into parenthood. I will complete light housework including preparing nutritious snacks. My postnatal doula services also include assisting you in bathing your baby and support you throughout breastfeeding. I will also take care of your newborn while you are napping or taking a shower. If you need someone to talk to, then I am more than available to sit down for a chat.
